The year of Luigi continues with an RPG this time.
Satoru Iwata confirmed tonight that the new Mario and Luigi game, now titled “Dream Team Bros.” will involve Mario entering Luigi’s dream in order to save Princess Peach.
Gameplay footage reveals that it is a very co-operative focused game, with both Mario and Luigi participating in battles in a rather odd and distinct artistic style that seems to harken back to Super Mario RPG on the SNES. Mario can manipulate Luigi while he’s sleeping (weird, we know) in order to change the environment in Luigi’s dreams. During select moments, players can also control multiple Luigi’s to traverse gaps or even make a Katamari-esque ball of Luigi’s to take down enemies.
Nintendo Australia have confirmed that the game will be hitting both retail shelves and the eShop as a digital download on the 13th of July this year.
Once again, it is the correct hour for Donkey Kong.
