You return as a main character while the series adopts dual attacks.
Andriasang has translated some tantalising new details about the upcoming Fire Emblem Awakening, the first of which is the reveal of said subtitle. The subtitle refers to two sleeping dragons who form a yin and a yang in the game’s troubled lands and who are echoed in the game’s two protagonists, a flachion wielding lord named Krom and yourself. At the game’s beginning you’ll create your own character, choosing gender and costumes who will then play a major role in the narrative, unlike a certain other Fire Emblem where you appeared in game as a wandering tactician.
Keeping with the game’s theme of twos, attacking with an ally next to you will now unleash a “dual attack” which will provide buffs as well as giving you twice as many attacks. The adoption of this system seems to perhaps been one of the reasons the series has moved to 3D battles on a portable. Additionally, the campaign is structured similarly to that of The Sacred Stones, with a node based world map you can freely travel through for shopping and grinding.
The game’s not too far out from its Japanese release date in April, so hopefully the next announcement will concern an international release.
