The latest issue of industry stalwart EDGE magazine has hit the shelves in the UK and some interesting news tidbits have come out, first off the bat is the news that CNN has signed up with Nintendo as the provider for new content on the News Channel in the United States and Japan. – Also Sega is reportedly moving staff from PS3 project onto Wii for the upcoming Summer period, no doubt to get some more games Wii bound.

– Even though Nintendo has removed DVD movie playback from the Wii and said it wasnt needed, there is rumour that it plans to launch in Japan next year an enhanced Wii capable of DVD Playback.

– Nintendo wanted to set the Wii price at $200US but retailers wanted it for higher so they could get a higher margin (profit) on it.

– Edge also says that Wii Sports will be the Mario 64 of the Wii.
