New EDGE interview with Miyamoto
Ah, Shigeru Miyamoto. When he speaks, Nintendo fanboys (and girls) pick up pen and paper and pay careful attention to the words of wisdom. Well, get ready for some more teasing as Miyamoto has revealed that – along with the promised Mario and Zelda – there is some “”secret software”” in development. When asked if Wii Music was the last of this “”original list”” of Wii games – games that, when the Wii was in development, he thought up first. More inside Miyamoto responded “”Yes, it is true that the existing Wii games, including Wii Music, were on the top priority list, but there is some other software, of course [laughs], but I cannot talk about it!”” When asked what subject of the next Wii game he develops might be, Miyamoto confirms that they’ll work on Mario and the Next Zelda but again fell short of revealing anything else.
They certainly love to tease us. In the same interview, the gaming guru talks about how he would like to be remembered. “”I would be happiest if people look back some day and say this is somebody who was there when videogames first started being created and hes somebody who was continually creating new styles of play and was bringing new ideas to games and was a pioneer up until his dying day.””
When you have a man as dedicated as this at the helm, there’s little that could go wrong.
