Original Story: There’s not long left until the end of January and the promised release date of the updated Pokémon Bank application. The update will add support for Pokémon Sun and Moon but also support for transferring your Pokémon from the Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow Virtual Console releases.
Pokémon transferred from the Virtual Console releases will have at least 3 max IVs, a random nature and there’s also a chance they could have their Hidden Ability. All transferred Pokemon will also carry a mark saying they’re from the GameBoy.
The new update also changes how Pokemon are added to your National Pokedex. You no longer need to upload Pokemon to the Bank to have them included. The game will scan your games too see which one you have captured and which ones you have seen. This will work across the six games the Bank supports.
The real question though when are we getting the update, there’s not many days left in January.

The release date is today! It’s out now!
Omgomgomgomg
About bloody time! ^-^
Uurghghhhh….
You can only transfer one box at a time from only one of the VC releases, and all of the Pokémon need to be deposited into Box 1 (and the GB games only allow 20 Pokémon per box, and Pokémon from other boxes need to manually be transferred to Box 1).
It’s such a stupid convoluted process and I need to jump back and forth between Pokémon Bank, Poké Transporter *and* the VC games to make the transition. Bleh… Still glad this thing is finally out, but I hate the process.
