Theres two new Kingdom Heart games on the way for Nintendo consoles- the newly revealed Nintendo 3DS version and the mobile phone port of Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded.

Speaking to Famitsu magazine, Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that the new entry for the Nintendo 3DS is an entirely new game and the next stage in the franchise. Sora and Riku return as playable characters in the game. More information is expected to be hinted through the other upcoming Re:Coded game for the DS and eventually at next years E3. This one is still a while away folks.

Nomura has also spoken about the upcoming Nintendo DS game. Yes, its a port of a mobile phone game but the software is being reengineered for the handheld and will see many changes. The game will be targeted towards more casual gamers, no doubt in a bid to get more people to check out the franchise. The game is also being tweaked to take on board additions from the other Kingdom Heart games 358/2 Days and Birth by Sleep, with development currently about 80% complete.

Looks like Kingdom Hearts fans will have more than enough to play for some time yet.
