THQ announces new features and upgrades for the next release in this popular wrestling game series

With the next WWE SmackDown vs. Raw title coming in about two months, THQ has let us in on some of the changes in the game. This release will mark the debut of the WWE Story Designer mode, in which players can create and customise their own story lines and cut scenes. This includes the ability to "select talent and scene locations, write their own dialogue, adjust camera angles, select from over 100 scene animations, determine talent emotions, and much more," according to THQ. It will also be possible for players to construct each nights show card with their own matches, match stipulations, events, and other story items.

The Create-a-Superstar mode has also been greatly enhanced, with THQ saying it will "[allow] players to create Superstars and Divas who are comparable in quality with their in-game WWE counterparts." Players will be able to design detailed tattoos, logos, and more with the new Paint Tool, while the also new Superstar Threads feature will allow the creation of alternative ring gear. Create-a-Finisher Mode has been enhanced as well, allowing the creation of attacks using the top turnbuckle, the ability to adjust the trajectory, and many new moves from the front grapple position.

The game will also receive for the first time an online content sharing system, called WWE Community Creations. With this, it will be possible to share all your own creations with people around the world for use with local or online matches. The database will support searching by keyword, along with a tagging system which should make it easier to find and organize similar content.

Were not sure if all of these features will be in the Wii version, much less the DS version, but weve asked THQ for clarification.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 will be arriving in Australia for Wii and DS this year on October 22.
