There’s a new 3DS Ace Attorney game on the way and it’s being made by the original series creator Shu Takumi. Just don’t except to see Phoenix Wright in it at all.
The Great Ace Attorney is a brand new Ace Attorney game set during the Meiji period in Japanese history. The Meiji period took place from 1868 until 1912, that’s quite a jump back in time.
The game was revealed in a leaked scan from the latest issue of Famitsu magazine and is said to be quite different to the Ace Attorney games before it. The game features a new protagonist, his name is Ryunosuke Naruhodo. That last name might be familiar to you, Naruhodo is name for Wright in Japanese. He’s a lawyer in training and also an ancestor of Phoenix Wright.
The Great Ace Attorney currently doesn’t have a release date as of yet. There’s also the concern that with the game being even more enshrined in Japanese history, the game will be even harder to localise. Let’s hope we see the game here one day.
