American movie distributor Netflix has surveyed customers to get a feel for whether Wii owners would make use of an online media streaming service. This wouldnt be the first instance of pay-on-demand media streaming- in Japan, a considerable library of anime is available for streaming from Fujisoft’, and will be expanded beyond anime via collaboration with advertising mob Dentsu. Lionsgate entertainment in the US had recently discussed the likelihood of Wii media streaming in western markets. More inside Streaming of Netflix movies was a major feature of last years New Xbox Exberience firmware upgrade for the 360- of course, this was for Americans only.

But if the Wii has the capability, and the big entertainment companies are looking to make a buck out of it, we may see this kind of technology in Australia before the Wiis days are over.
