NES Golf game hidden in Switch firmware has motion controls

Flog.

We’ve known for some time that there’s a hidden NES emulator deep within the Switch firmware, presumably for testing. But now it’s been revealed that there’s also a copy of NES Golf in there as well and it sports some changes. It’s also all been named ‘flog’, perhaps in an attempt to hide it.

The game appears to be augmented not only with single Joy-Con support for two players but also with motion controls with screens of the game showing text explaining how to use it.

Nintendo has been silent on Virtual Console for some time, but if they’re taking time to add motion controls to all these games then that might explain the silence. On the other hand, this could just be a test left over and no-one was ever meant to see it.
