NES Emulator for Xbox One somehow passes certification
Somehow a developer has managed to get a NES emulator certified for release on the Xbox One and it could be out any day now.
NESBox will let Xbox One players load NES ROMs through a USB stick and play the classic system on Microsoft’s box.
Good news everyone! #nesbox has passed certification and will appear in Windows Store for XBox One soon. pic.twitter.com/NSD3HnriLw

Seeing as how Nintendo cracks down on anything resembling a Nintendo game not on a Nintendo console, it’s probably not going to allow Xbox owners to just simply load NES games onto its console. Especially as they’re still selling many of them on the Virtual Console and Nintendo wants to sell the Mini NES Classic later this year.
Countdown until takedown begins..

Unless the emulator contains copyrighted data or some such, there’s no reason for it to be taken down (ie why are you surprised?). heck the developer could include a homebrew application with it.
I don’t think we’ll have to worry about that countdown. nesbox has said on their twitter page that mircosoft has unpublished the app on the windows store as microsoft don’t want it for xbox part of the windows store due to possible legal ramifications with nintendo (and to republish they have to untick support for xbox app). This is a day after it was approved. Guess even emulators legal or not could ruffle unwanted feathers.
