If they're being developed by Criterion of course.

Need for Speed Most Wanted is still a month away Wii U owners, but don’t worry the next version will be on time.

Speaking to Destructoid, vice president of Criterion Games, Alex Ward has revealed that now the team have come to grips with developing on Nintendo’s new console, their first Nintendo game since Burnout 2 on the GameCube, that future Need for Speed games will be on time. Provided that his team is working on it.

Ward also sung the praises of the Wii U saying that “I love it. It really got me back into Nintendo software.”

The delay hasn’t been all bad news though, Criterion has been able to take the extra time to make the game the definitive version of the game. The game will use assets from the PC version, not the console version and offer improved lighting and effects.

The game is also entirely chock full of Wii U functionality with new Co-Driver the biggest addition. One person will play the game using a Wii Remote or a Wii U Pro Controller just like normal but the second person takes the GamePad to help the main player with navigation, change the time to day or night, annoy the police and even control the level of traffic on the road.

The game will also have full online modes with voice chat through the GamePad and Miiverse integration right in the game. Expect to smash through your friends faces billboards on more than once.

Anyone looking to pick this one up on March 19th when it’s released?
