I know a lot of you have already visited and added a lot of sites to your Opera favourites. However, were you aware of some of the really handy things you could be looking at on your TV along with anyone else in the room? The Internet Channel is not a replacement for a desktop PC and should not be treated as such.

See inside for the full article In this article (hopefully the first of a series) I will list a number of sites, which are well suited for TV and social viewing. The kind of sites which may not be worth bookmarking on your PC but certainly are on your Wii.

Lets take a look:

Title: VooksWii
URL: wii.vooks.net
Description: Our very own Wii Portal, included in the list for obvious reasons. The page is a great entry point for the site with upcoming releases, who is playing what games, error code search and of course the latest in Nintendo news.

Title: YouTube
URL: youtube.com
Description: Everybody’s favourite video website. Browsing the main pages may be a bit of a pain, but once you have located your video it’s absolutely fantastic. Press the full-screen button on the lower right hand corner and you will forget the site was not designed for use on the Wii.

Title: Move Times
URL: hoyts.com.au/session/search.asp
URL: greaterunion.com.au/movies/movietimes.asp
Description: Rather than print out a page of movie times off the internet before deciding what movie to see, get the whole gang around the TV and browse the site and choose a movie faster and more socially.

Title: WiiCade
URL: wiicade.com
Description: A site filled with flash games designed specifically for playing on the Internet Channel. The popular site is going to do nothing but expand and become more Wii compliant now that Opera has launched.

Title: TV Guide
URL: tvguide.ninemsn.com.au
Description: Of all the TV guide websites the ninemsn one had the best viewing on the Wii. If you don’t have a guide immediately handy you might make good use of this bookmark, although its use is somewhat limited considering most people have TV guides out the same time they are channel surfing or not at all.

Title: Warp Pipe
URL: warppipe.com
Description: The Warp Pipe page has some nice features, but none quite as nice as the tabbed browsing utility. Do all your browsing by starting at the Warp Pipe site using their tab system and you can give Opera the much needed tabbed browsing.

Title: eBay
URL: ebay.com.au
Description: If I list eBay, you might say I might as well list every single major site on the web. Truth is though, I’ve had many instances where the family was crowded around our laptop trying to see and read the same auction. The next time that won’t be happening, because we will use the Internet Channel. Maybe you will do the same.
