New features have now been confirmed, including new levels, leaderboards and difficulty options
It has been revealed that the upcoming WiiWare remake, EarthWorm Jim, will be based on the Sega Genesis version of the original, but with a completely re-done engine. The game will be more than a simple port, featuring improved graphics, new levels, leaderboards (killed enemies, total time and more), along with extra difficulty options. Fans will be happy to know that the level exclusive to the Special Edition released on the Sega CD and PC , "Big Bruty", will also be included.

Unfortunately, none of the original team members will be working on the remake, but it will still contain Tommy Tallaricos original music from the first game. Good news for us WiiWare users, though, is that the only difference between the version we get and the PSN/XBLA product is resolution, with the HD consoles obviously getting it in higher resolution.
EarthWorm Jim will be arriving on WiiWare by the end of the year.
