Monster Hunter 3, currently the highest selling third-party Wii game in Japan, has certainly made a lot of news of late. The best news for us, though, is that it is confirmed for a Western release in North America and Europe.

Tsujimoto Ryozo, the games producer, has recently spoken about a few areas of the title, one of them being voice chat. "We love the idea of voice chat (WiiSpeak) and we know that it is a minimum for western players," he said. Very few games currently use the device, so more support is always welcome.

On the subject of online numbers, he mentioned that, "Although connection ratio is lower in this console, in 20 days it has grown, and the amount of people playing online is growing every day." The Japanese version of the game is pay to play on a monthly basis, but the online payment system has not yet been decided for the western release.

He also had this to say about graphics, "Actually, we knew that the visual aspect is very important, so we set the graphics as our main goal. Thats where we spent a lot of time. I think we have the best graphics on Wii." The current screens of the game do indeed look great, but well have to wait for the final release to make that decision ourselves.

Monster Hunter 3 has no current Australian release date, but will be coming to Europe in early 2010. We will likely get it shortly after.
