Those one million Monster Hunter tri copies have are now in the hands of the Japanese, and like any big title in Japan many lined up for their copies. But it wasn’t just copies of Monster Hunter getting snapped up but also the new Classic Controller Pro and Black (Kuro) coloured Wii consoles.
The biggest lines were in the Bic Camera story in Yurakucho, which were over 100 people. Some people lined up from 11PM the night before just to be there. Why this store in particular? Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto was there signing copies of the game of course. No word yet on early sales, but expect them to be good.
Also this weekend Nintendo has posted another Iwata Asks feature. This time Monster Hunter tri was the subject and some interesting information was revealed. Most notably after seeing the graphics of the game the team at Nintendo developing the new Zelda really felt the pressure after seeing what Capcom was getting out of the Wii. The team worked extra hard on the graphics alone to get them to the level they are.
The controls of MH3 were also a big point during development with the games control scheme not finalized until just before it’s showing at the TGS. The idea of motion controls was dismissed as well because of the sometimes insane amount of time people the game. The Classic Controller Pro which was also released on the same day as MH3 also had Capcom’s influence with Nintendo and Capcom working on it together.

Definitively done with the Wii U now.
Because Gate Rune and Dunan Unification War is too long to fit in a title.
