April 20 is when Americans will get their hands on Monster Hunter Tri, and they wont be have to pay to play the games online modes. The news comes from Nintendo Americas Media Summit after months of speculation and hints from Capcom.
The Japanese version of Monster Hunter Tri requires a monthly subscription fee. This is all well and good in Japan as everyone who knows Monster Hunter Tri is willing to pay for it because they know what it is. But here in west no-one is quite sure just what Monster Hunter is, and so a move to free online is great for getting the game out there.
A release date and the free-to play-online nature of the Australian version isnt know yet, but well follow it up with Nintendo.
