Monster Hunter tri, the highly anticipated third installment of Capcom’s hit Monster Hunter franchise, won’t be getting a release anytime soon, if Capcom’s Christian Svensson is indeed correct. When asked for a release date, Svensson, who has deconfirmed many rumours and confirmed even more, stated that he wouldn’t reveal a release date, “”but 2008 it isn’t.”” More inside The reason for such a long wait? Svensson goes on to say that a game “”of this magnitude requires years of development.”” Monster Hunter tri was initially announced for the Playstation 3, though Capcom moved development over to the Wii exclusively, citing “”ever increasing development costs”” as the main motivation behind the move.

If what Svensson says is indeed true and the standards of the series hold up, fans can expect a fairly fleshed out online RPG for the Wii.
