Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s campaign will focus on elite hunters
First of all, the game will now feature a G-Rank difficulty, which is an improvement over the original Monster Hunter 4, which only went up to High Rank.
In terms of the storyline, the game will revolve around “Lead Hunters”, a group of hunters who take on special requests whom are seeked out because they aren’t your average hunters – they’re the best of the best. Each of the new hunters has specialized knowledge and techniques, traveling the world to take on all kinds of different requests. Players of the original Monster Hunter game on PS2 will also be happy to hear that Dondruma Town, the town that acted as an online lobby area, will be the main setting for the story of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
As with previous games, the flagship monster, “Serlegios”, will allegedly use their legs like we’ve never seen before from other monsters. Serlegios will be joined by several other, never-before-seen subspecies in the game too.
The Felyne companions have also received some upgrades, including one cool trick shown in the video where they can launch the player up to the top of a monster, or take stamina from monsters to help the player.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be releasing in Japan on October 11th, later his year. It’ll be coming to Western territories in early 2015, exclusively for 3DS. Nintendo Australia are publishing, so as soon as we know a date, we’ll let you know.
