Want to go online with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on 3DS? You'll need a Wii U.
Nintendo has announced during last night’s Nintendo Direct that it plans to take Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on 3DS online in one of the most unique ways ever.
A new app will be made available from the Wii U eShop which will allow a copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the 3DS to go online through the Wii U. The 3DS version of the game does not have online play through traditional means.
The Wii U app called ‘Packet Relay Tool’ has a few provisos, and a couple of quid pro quos. You will need a Wii U obviously, but the Wii U will need a wired internet connection and only one 3DS can be used on the tool at any one time. That does mean you will need to buy a separate USB Ethernet connector for the Wii U to use it.
So far this feature has only been announced in Japan, but there’s no reason it shouldn’t come to the west. We will keep you updated.
Oh and there was a new Monster Hunter 4 trailer as well.
Get in quick, they go fast.
