Miyamoto wants a new Zelda in style of Link to the Past

Not a remake, but a brand new title with a similar style.

Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed in a new interview that he thinks a new Zelda game should be made in the style of A Link To The Past for the Nintendo 3DS. Previous Miyamoto has said he would like the game to be the next Zelda remake on the system, but has since changed his mind and says that a new game would be better. But he would be “more interested in creating something new maybe based on, or starting from, A Link To The Past. I think it’s important to bring some really new software.”

However the vision Miyamoto has for this new game might not be exactly what he get gets as he wouldn’t be at the helm of the title. “To be very honest and open, it really depends on the directors that have time at the moment as well, Some directors, I can give them the title and I know they will do something great with it.

However if a director he doesn’t have 100% confidence in were to get the title he would prefer that the original get remade instead. So far this new Zelda or remake of Link To The Past seems a while off and probably isn’t development at all at this stage. So don’t get too excited.

Would you rather see a remake of Link To The Past, in glorious 3D, or a brand new Zelda title in the classic Link To The Past style, which we guess would also be in 3D. You get the point.
