Miiverse update allows off-topic posts outside communities

Miiverse has been a great unexpected feature of the Wii U. It’s been great to talk about Wii U games, events and get help when you need it. There’s been one problem though, you haven’t really been able to just post on it about whatever you want.
Well now you can.
As long as you follow the Miiverse rules you can now post statuses to your activity feed just like you would on Facebook or Twitter. You can talk about anything as these posts don’t have to be in a community and will appear only to your friends or followers. This is a great move going forward and will actually make the ‘following’ feature more useful.
