Miiverse Code of Conduct Changes and Other Updates Go Live

Some are a bit different....

Nintendo bringing on the Miiverse changes thick and fast, this week they’ve not only updated their code of conduct to use Miiverse but also how it functions.

Firstly there is now a Miiverse community in Miiverse where Nintendo staffers will provide updates and news about Miiverse directly to users. We in Australian (and Europe) get Marty from Nintendo telling us what’s what. Sadly Marty has brought us some disappointing news to start with. Now once you comment on someones post you will not longer get a notification of a reply unless its the original poster. You’ll also have to wait 5 minutes between each post, a bit annoying. On the positive side once someone follows you on Miiverse you’ll get a notification for that.

The Code of Conduct updates are a little weird as well. Miiverse posts are no longer allowed to be ‘off-topic’. Each topic must be about the game or service its in. Asking for someone to add you as a friend is frowned upon. It’s also been revealed that users under 12 will no longer be able to add friends through Miiverse, they’ll have to add people the old fashioned way by knowing their Nintendo Network ID.

What do you think of the changes Nintendo have implemented here? Good or bad?
