In a new interview, Shigeru Miyamoto has spoken at length about the 3DS but one of the big stick-out things is that Nintendo is keen to keep Miis continuing on the next Nintendo console. But you hopefully wont have to make a new one with transferring them over a priority for Nintendo. "[Its] something that were definitely giving consideration to and want to continue to try to allow people to use their Miis on different Nintendo systems going forward."
Screenshots of the tentatively titled "Pilotwings Resort" show charaters that look very similar to Miis flying around. This wont be the first time the Miis have escaped the confines of the Wii; there are two DS titles that allow you to transfer your Mii to your game out at the moment.
