After this year’s superb Tatsunoko vs Capcom on Wii, the news that Capcom would be reviving their Marvel crossover series with Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds was almost too good to be true. Unfortunately, the game was soon announced to be PS3/360 only, coming as a shock to Wii fighting fans everywhere after the news that Capcom would be porting their MT Framework engine (the engine Marvel vs Capcom 3, Lost Planet 2 and many other Capcom games run on) to the Wii. So far, Capcom haven’t made any announcements as to why the much anticipated cross-over fighting game won’t be heading Wii-ward. But in a recent interview with EventHubs, Capcom’s Christian Svensson revealed just why they’re not releasing Marvel vs Capcom 3 on the Wii.
"The Wii received Tatsunoko vs. Capcom as its Versus offering," Svensson stated. "We wanted development and business focus on X360/PS3 for MvC3." So there you go, that’s why MvC3 isn’t coming to the Wii.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom was released earlier this year to critical acclaim, and generally hailed as the Wii’s finest fighting game with some decent sales to boot as well.
