Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars coming to Wii U and 3DS with Cross Buy

Nintendo has shed some more light on the latest game in the Mario vs Donkey Kong series during their latest Direct video. Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars will focus on it’s new ‘tipping’ feature.

Like other games in the series you must guide the Mario toys through a stage to a goal while collecting coins throughout. The custom stage builder also makes a return, allowing you to make challenges of your own to share with the Mario vs Donkey Kong community.

As you complete levels in the game you earn stars, depending on how well you do. Stars can then be used to purchase new items in the stage builder, letting you make more challenges to share. Alternatively, if you play a level that someone else has made and think that it’s worthy of your hard earned stars, you can tip them by giving them some of your stars.

With this kind of community encouragement we may get to see some popular creators constantly bringing us new and unique stages to play.

Along with the game coming to Wii U, a 3DS version was also announced to be released at the same time. Both titles will be made available on their respective eShop. Nintendo also announced that anyone who purchases the Wii U version will get a free download code for the 3DS version and vice-versa. This way you get to play at home on the couch and on the move wherever you are. Unless you are feeling generous and decide to give the bonus code to a friend.

Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars will be available March 21st. Stay tuned to Vooks for future updates.

Video games are not my forte. I'm not very good at video games. If you walked up to me in the streets and exclaimed “Hey! You suck at video games!” I would not call you a liar. They are, however, one of my favourite things and classic Nintendo titles are what I like best. Sure I haven't finished New Super Mario Bros. U yet and I've had the game since launch, but that doesn't mean I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as you when I play it.
