The land of the rising sun will receive game ahead of 2011 worldwide release

Japan shall be receiving Mario Sports Mix on November 25th, 2010 ahead of its 2011 worldwide release. In accordance with this an official site has launched announcing 7 confirmed characters and two different modes of play. The Square-Enix developed title stars the Mario cast playing various sports including Dodge Ball, Volley Ball, Basketball and Hockey.

The picture below shows the 7 characters that have been revealed for the title (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Toad, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong), but in addition there are also blank slots for another 7 which will most likely be released over the next month. The two revealed modes of play are Exhibition and Tournament. In Exhibition mode one to four players set up their own teams and have 2-on-2 or 3-on-3 matches. One to three players can participate in Tournament mode where they again create their teams and then work through a tournament. This mode can also facilitate both 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 matches.
