Believe it or not Japan has only just received Mario Party 8, the last region in the world to do so and its doing well so far selling an impressive 100,000 copies already. However it has faced stiff competition up against Minna no Golf 5 on the PS3 selling around the same numbers, however the Minna no Golf ‘beginners’ hardware bundle has not fared as well. Taiko no Tatsujin DS (a drum game in similiar fashion to Donkey Konga) has also sold well and is now sold out in a few places around Japan, with many retailers complaining of a shortage.
