Mario Kart 8 zooms to 2.82 million sales in first month

Nintendo has just released its 1st quarter financial statement and revealed some great news for Mario Kart 8. The game has now sold 2.82 million copies worldwide, its first month on sale.

Mario Kart 8 also boosted Wii U hardware sales to 0.51m, that’s way above for the same period last year but still behind Nintendo’s expectations. With no other retail games released during the period and Mario Kart 8 hitting at the end of May its safe to say the rest of the quarter was a little bit quiet.
