Mario Kart 8 Deluxe outsells original, Mario Kart 7 in first week in the UK

Some early good news from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sales has started to trickle in.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the first Nintendo game since Pokemon Black in 2011 that has topped the charts in its opening week (or at all). The game is selling so well that even had a bigger first week than Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U and Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS when they released. It fell just short of the Wii version, however.
We’ll have the Australian charts later in the week and we’ll see if it can crack the top down here. It’s a good sign!
