Mario Kart 8 Deluxe adds new battle mode, new characters and more
Mario Kart 8 was today announced for the Nintendo Switch, it will miss launch but not by too much and will be released on April 28th.
The Switch version will feature all the tracks and characters from the Wii U version including all the DLC content and characters. There are four new characters to race as, King Boo, Dry Bones, Bowser Jr. The other character is the male or female Inkling from Splatoon.
Returning to Mario Kart is the proper battle mode we all know and love. Balloon Battle and Bom-omb Blast will be able to be played online and locally. There’s new courses as well, one of them is even Urchin Overpass from Splatoon.
There’s also items returning to the game, the Boo which steals items and the Feather are back – but only in battle mode.
Nintendo says the game will run at 1080p and 60fps when the Switch is docked and 720p in portable mode.
Can they please make this DLC for the Wii U version. This game is pretty much a kick in the face for Wii U owners. It’s like Nintendo purposely didn’t make Battle mode for the Wii U.
