Nintendo of America has confirmed that Mario Golf: World Tour will come with a range of downloadable content from day one and over time with a Season Pass.
World Tour already comes with 10 courses and 126 holes but if you’re really keen for more fairway action you’ll have some options to buy into more courses. From the launch there will be a Mushroom Pack available.
Soon after and later in May there will be a Flower Pack and in June a Star Pack. Each pack contains two new 18-hole courses and a new playable character. Toadette comes with the Mushroom Pack, Nabbit with the Flower Pack and Rosalina with the Star Pack.
Each pack will cost US$5.99 and will be available from the main menu. However if all of this content sounds great you can purchase a Season Pass and purchase all of the packs in advance for a lower price of $US14.99. Australian pricing and availability will be available soon. In addition if you buy the Season Pass you get a Golden Mario character to use from launch. You can trial a sample of the new courses before you download as well.
This isn’t the first time Nintendo have done a Season Pass, the honour goes to Fire Emblem Awakening, but it is the first time they’ve referred to this kind of DLC purchase as one. It also differs from seasons passes on other consoles as you know what you’re going to get from day one. Other games offer a season pass but you’re never really sure about what you’re going to get.
Mario Golf: World Tour is out in Australia on May 3rd.
