Now with cats! Yes, the internets favourite animal.

In news we didn’t expect, Nintendo has announced Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U at its latest E3 Direct.

The title will feature a similar style of gameplay found within the 3DS hit Super Mario 3D Land, and allow players to experience the fun with four well-known characters.

Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad will all appear as playable characters in this Wii U exclusive. Each will have their own special abilities just like they did in Super Mario Bros. 2. Multiplayer will of course feature, and in true Mario fashion players can either team up or face off against each other.

Last but definitely not least, is the inclusion of a cat suit. When wearing this, Mario and company will be able to scale walls and attack enemies with sharp claws.

Super Mario 3d World has a release date of December 2013 in the UK. We can hopefully expect the same, but we’ll update you once we receive localised details.

I’ve been writing about video games since 2006 and playing them since I was a kid. I started out with a copy of Mario & Yoshi on the Game Boy and before I knew it was in debt to Tom Nook. These days I spend much of my time trawling the eShop for the latest downloadable hit.
