Your Wallet Enters the Battle.
While most of the Sakurai’s Nintendo Direct presentation leaked out yesterday, there was still plenty to see in this prelude to E3. Street Fighter’s Ryu and Fire Emblem’s Roy are joining the DLC roster for Super Smash Bros today on both the Wii U and 3DS. Ryu will also be joining the battle with his very own stage based the Suzaku Castle from Street Fighter II.
Roy is isn’t a complete clone of other Fire Emblem characters and has some different Final Smash moves to set him apart.
We know Lucas was set to be release today but with the announcement of Ryu and Roy we also will be able to download these two characters right now as well. Ryu is bundled in with his stage and will set you back $7.80 for just the new content (character + stage) on one game or $9.10 for both versions of the game. Lucas and Roy are both $5.20 for only on one version of the game or $6.50 for both versions.
While you’ll be able to play Ryu just like you would any other character in Super Smash Bros, fighting game fans will be keen to know that you can control Ryu very similar to how you would in a normal Street Fighter title. Not only that, if you use the harder configuration attacks will deal more damage. With the traditional controls you can pull off a Hadouken (his signature move) but with the other controls you can do a quarter-circle-forward motion, then tap B to make him do the move but more powerfully.
Aside from the new character stage for Ryu there’s also Dreamland 64 which returns to the game, it is available to purchase right now as well. Hyrule Castle and Peach’s Castle from the Nintendo 64 original will also be available to purchase at a later date.
The fun doesn’t stop there! There’s also a range of new costumes for your Mii fighters available as well. You can now dress your Mii up like Isabelle from Animal Crossing, Heihachi from Tekken, Akira and Jacky from Sega’s Virtua Fighter, Zero and MegaMan.EXE and finally the boy and girl Inklings from Splatoon. You can even wear a squid on your head if you so wish – like some sort of sick trophy.
New stages are $2.60 for just one version of the game, $3.90 for both. Costumes are $1.05 for one version of the game or $1.55 for both.
You can also buy everything together for $29.20 on one console or $38.40 for both. Will you be purchasing any of the new updates here today?
Makes sense to us.
