LostWinds, one of WiiWares launch titles here on May 20th, 2008, was confirmed by Frontier Developments (the games designer) to have a sequel in development shortly after release, and details about the new game have finally been unveiled in a feature inside Edge Magazine in the UK.

Titled Lost Winds: Winter of Melodias, the sequel will now see Toku, the games main character, being able to switch the season of the game between summer and winter. This feature will allow players to complete puzzles unsolvable from one of the seasons. You will also be able to swim in this game, as well as use a cyclone power that can carry water and destroy rocks. An in-game map and hint system has been introduced, too, which should help those who get lost.

Frontier Developments also commented that, while they are happy with the first game, they do have plenty of new ideas for their sequel. While the games release date isnt known, it seems likely for a Christmas release, considering its added winter theme.
