Loot box odds disclosure to be mandated by Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft

The Entertainment Software Association has finally done useful this week by announcing that Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are all working together on policies surrounding loot boxes on their systems.
All three companies are working together on a standard so that loot boxes odds are disclosed before purchase.
This means you know what chance you’ll have of getting a specific item should you buy a loot box in a game. Both Apple and Google have already done this for their platforms, it’s great to see home console manufacturers get on board too.
This will apply to new games and updates to games going forward. There’s no time table yet for implementation, but at least it’s on the cards now.
