Live in Sydney? 18+? Good at Mario Kart? We need you!
Nintendo Australia is on a quest to find the local gaming communities fastest Mario Kart racer and we need your help to make sure it’s a Vookian. (that’s you a reader of Vooks).
Nintendo is holding an event in Sydney that will find the countries best Mario Kart community and to do it we’ll be racing across (nearly) every Mario Kart title ever to prove it. That’s Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7.
Up for grabs are Nintendo 3DS XL consoles signed by Charles Martinet, loads of Nintendo 3DS Games and if we’re the fastest we get the huge trophy you can see Charles hold in the video below!
We’ve got a maximum of 10 slots to fill on our team and we need the best Mario Kart racers from our community to squash the competition. So who’s the competition? Well it’s every other gaming site community out there in Australia. Think you’re up for it?
To join our race team you’ll have to fulfill the following requirements first.
1. Be awesome at Mario Kart
2. Be in Sydney on November 1st from 6:30pm to 10:30pm
3. Must be 18 Years or over (sorry younger readers)
4. Race proudly for the Vooks Racing Team
The night will be filled with racing, fun and food. So if you’re interested then either comment on this story or email us at mariokartteam@vooks.net why you want to be on the Vooks Team! What makes you better than everyone else! Oh and start practising!
Applications are now closed, we’ve received tons of applications and its time to sort who shall be on our team!
We’re the best dedicated Nintendo site in Australia, you’re not going to let a bunch of multi-platform people win are you? They don’t know Mario Kart like you do!
1) They call me Ghost Valley Ricky Bobby
2) Live in Sydney, will be in town that night
3) 18+
4) I practically live on these forums and will rep it to the fullest.

I’m interested. I’ve put 600 hours into Mario Kart Wii and 200 into MK7 so far. Fought off Funky Kong’s, dodged blues, mastered the Standard Kart. Had a world record time for a few days too.

The old MK’s I’m not so seasoned with but I can still be competitive. Sounds like a great time, would be nice to meet some of you guys there!
I’ve never written an essay about why I should compete in a video game competition, but here goes;
-I’ve been a Mario Kart habitué ever since 1990-something.
-I live on Princes Highway in Sydney, which kinda sounds like Princess Highway, which kinda sounds like a track.
-It’s been my dream to be a Mario Kart champion ever since I heard of this competition 3 minutes ago.
-I’m not necessarily great at Mario Kart, but I can lag behind and get all the good items and use them to sabotage the other teams.
-I play every year at the Mario Kart tournament at the SMASH convention and do pretty well.
Basically, without making it sound too much like a resume, I’m willing to crush any opponent like the hammer of Thor or apologioze to my teammates trying. And I’ll bring chips and dip.
As a freelancer for another dedicated Nintendo site (European based) I would be proud to join the Vooks team if they would have me.
Only new to commenting on the Vooks pages but have been a long time reader.
Have been playing Mario Kart since the original, and am a specialist at Mario Kart 64 and Double Dash.
Have sent an e-mail also 🙂
Would love to be there! Had Mario Kart running through my veins ever since it was first released on SNES. Played thousands and thousands of hours on the original, followed by Mario Kart 64, then Mario Kart DS, Wii and now Mario Kart 7 since 1992. Can’t believe I’ve been playing the same game series for 20 years and its never gotten old or boring and has always felt fresh. To me, it is the best game series of all time and I will never ever forget how ahead of its time the original was not only in gameplay and graphics, but also the incredible soundtrack that went with it. Can still hear the end of race music in my head as I type this post. Incredible.
Live in Sydney? Nope.
But I’ll be cheering for team Vooks. GOOO TEAM VOOKS!!!
Unfortunately, I’m only a recent reader of Vooks, but if it is possible to do so, I’d be more than happy to race for the Vooks team. I currently live in Sydney, am aged 22 years and will certainly be available on the day. Assuming nothing of a higher priority suddenly comes up between now and then.
I have to withdraw my application, sorry =(. Looking forward to reading about it!
I am down for this 🙂
Long time DS Mariokarter and all round racing games player 😉
I’m a former champion of the NSMB / MKDS tournament can post pic if needed :D, have held mario kart world records across different systems and am still great at the ones I haven’t held world records for.
Cheers.
Woo! I get picked!
