Limited Edition Animal Crossing 3DS XL making it’s way to Europe and America

Tonight, Nintendo announced that the Animal Crossing themed 3DS XL will be released along with New Leaf in both the Europe, and US regions in a few months time. The console comes with Animal Crossing: New Leaf pre-installed as a digital download.

We’ve reached out to Nintendo Australia for comment on a local release as details have yet to be confirmed – though it’s worth noting that Australians also missed out on the limited edition Fire Emblem 3DS XL as well.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is due to release in Australia on June 15th.

What do you think of the New Leaf 3DS XL’s white, almost speckled design? Would you be interested in one if Nintendo Australia were to announce it for a local release? Let us know in the comments or on the forums.

Update: We asked Nintendo Australia about this one, unfortunately  they have nothing to announce right now. Which means it could be coming… or it might not. However, if we find out it is you’ll be the first people we tell.

Again Australia gets boned. We are not getting this pack either? What is up with Nintendo, do they hate Australia?

Please tell me we’re getting this. This isn’t fair. Nintendo should release their products worldwide, not just pick and choose, and leave us Aussie fans in the dust. Come on Nintendo. Don’t let us down again.

I’ve given up on Nintendo of Australia. I don’t even think they really exist. Probably just one guy in a run down office with a telephone and boxes of the crappy club nintendo prizes that have been sitting around there for years.

The good news is that Amazon UK will ship 3ds systems to Australia. I recently bought the Fire emblem XL because we got screwed over with that as well, and it ended up being the same price in Australian dollars as if I had bought it in the store myself (Around $252 AUD including shipping).

This may be a dumb question but does it still work in Australia the same? Is it not locked or something to Europe? I know thats probably stupid but yeahhh…

It’s really disappointing how Nintendo Australia dont bring it here (or its Nintendo Europe’s decision?) I’ll speak as if its Nintendo Australia to be blamed.

They did it on Monster Hunter 3, I’ve got no idea how it had fared. It disappointed me even more that they didn’t bring Fire Emblem Awakening 3DS XL bundle to here, its shameful considering how truly brilliant the game are! And now, they dont seem to going to do it for Animal Crossing either.

Whoever running the role(s) with those decisions needs to be aware and acknowledge our community, the more they know, the better sales may be. Also I reckon they need to do a better job on raising awareness and get more involved in the public such as awesome events like US do even some of us are curious about how the sales’ going in Australia. We keep hearing from Japan, US and Europe except for Australia…

If its Nintendo Europe then… slap ’em in faces and make ’em bring it here!
