At a press conference in Japan today, Level 5 took the wraps off their next big game and announced their partnership with Studio Ghibli- the famous animation studio behind films such as Spirited Away and Ponyo. Ni no Kuni is heading to the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo DS with the Nintendo DS version being stored on a huge 4GB card which not only contains all of the art and animation but also a full orchestrated soundtrack. The DS version will also come with a massive 350-page manual that you will be essential when playing through the game. Players will need to frequently refer to book to learn how to interact and communicate with the creatures in the games world.
The book is a comprehensive tome- youll learn how to greet the different races in the game, cast spells, recipes for spells and more. Naturally, a release outside of Japan wasnt announced at an event like this, but the new North American office for Level 5 might be tasked to it.
The PS3 version that is also in the works will have a similar gameplay experience but of course present all the artwork in HD. However, at the end of the day, both the PS3 and DS versions will look excellent.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Miyamoto and Metal Slug Tactics.
