Lego Rock Band to make its way to the DS

Get ready to rock on the road without any peripheralsitll even work on your DSi

Lego Rock Band, an upcoming entry in this major rhythm game series, has today been announced to be receiving a DS version alongside the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 releases.

Players will be able to create their own Lego character and tour in various venues, stadiums, and fantasy locations on Earth (and even beyond!). Bands can tour solo (being able to switch instruments on-the-fly) or with up to 4 players via the local WiFi multiplayer.

Unlike the other console versions, the DS release wont need any peripherals, with the game using only the DSs buttons or touchscreen to perform the bass, guitar, drum, and vocal parts of the songs. This also means that, unlike the Guitar Hero games for the DS which used the GBA slot to fit their peripheral, this game will work with the DSi.

Some of the popular songs included are Pinks "So What", Europes "The Final Countdown", and "Ruby" by the Kaiser Chiefs.With its family-friendly design approach, the game seems only a perfect fit for the DS.

Lego Rock Band will be coming to the DS and Wii this spring.
