Disney has recently revealed that the next piece in the block-building saga will also be available for the 3DS, in May this year.

As well as sporting all 70+ characters from the home console versions and spanning all four films, the 3DS version will possess unique features including Pirate Duel, which operates with StreetPass. Pirate Duel is a minigame that activates when you pass another Lego Pirates of the Caribbean 3D owner who has their 3DS with them. These duels will earn you Play Coins which can be used to unlock new characters. Experience points are also unlocked for rewards such as health upgrades, better moves, new titles and such.

Disneys Adam Sussman believes this will offer a deeper experience for Wii and DS owners: "The Nintendo 3DS lets players experience a LEGO game like never before, and allows us to add new depth to the Pirates of the Caribbean universe. The game incorporates new features such as the Pirate Duel system and high resolution 3D effects to deliver fun and clever gameplay fans of the LEGO series expect."

At this stage, its between the launch window title of Lego Star Wars III or Pirates of the Caribbean in a battle for your precious money. Which one will you choose?
