"We really are at the end of life for Wii U"
The Switch might be just a couple of weeks away and people are looking forward to playing Breath of the Wild on that, however many will still enjoy it on the Wii U. But what happens after that? Is there anything else left to come on the Wii U? Not from Nintendo at least.
Speaking to Polygon, Reggie Fils-Aime has told the site that Breath of the Wild is the last Wii U game from Nintendo for the system;
From a first-party standpoint, there’s no new development coming after the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. We really are at the end of life for Wii U.
You shouldn’t worry about Nintendo sunsetting the online services surrounding the console. Games like Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 will be able to be played for some time;
From our standpoint, sunsetting is quite some time into the future. The ongoing activity from an online standpoint on [Mario] Kart and Splatoon is significant. We’re going to continue to support that.
This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone really, the Wii U has been on life support for some time. But what a way to go!
It's Black, Back Again.
If these aren't the coolest graphics...
Loco Motive, MySims: Cozy Bundle, Stray, Nine Souls, Servonauts.
