There’s a new Wii U update there in the wild, but it’s not the big speed improving update you were hoping for. That’s still coming sometime in April, this one is just for minor stability improvements.
The update weighs in at 30mb and is available worldwide. As far as we can tell there’s no visible differences and does what it says in the updates.
