Latest Pokémon Go update data mined, several new exciting things revealed

There hasn’t been an update to the Pokémon Go app since the new year, we were beginning to get worried. Today Niantic have announced they’ve push a new update and it should be available to download from the App Store and Google Play Store pretty soon.

Officially here’s what the update has;

• Updated Apple Watch to display Eggs obtained from PokéStops
• Changed distance tracking to better account for GPS drift
• Minor text fixes

Unofficially and thanks to the people at /r/TheSilphRoad we know a little more about some changes behind the scenes that may or not be coming soon.

Some of the hidden things include;

• New Moves from the Johto Region, 38 in total
• Evolution items such as the Sun Stone, Kings Rock and Upgrade for certain Generation 2 evolutions
• Pokémon ‘Forms’ found, like for the Unown
• News ‘Digest’ added for in-game news updates
• More avatar customisation like belts and glasses
• Shiny Pokemon and and Pokemon Gender
• Debugging tools, sponsor types and more…

It might be cool for a while if Niantic just added more Pokemon, but adding more things from the meta-game would be more interesting we think. Looks like it’s on the way.
