The latest Pokémon GO update contains some surprise new features
The latest Pokemon Go update notes might say it just contains the ability to transfer multiple Pokémon and update the icons around Gym Battles, but there’s a lot more going on under the surface that data-miners have discovered.
There’s quite a bit here added, all of which is ‘in the game’ but not actually usable at this point. It’s likely Niantic will flip the switch on this sometime around December 12th perhaps?
Some people may consider the following spoilers, so read only if you really want to know.
With the addition of Generation 2 Pokemon coming there has to be some changes to actual Pokemon in the game. Pokémon Go now features genders for monster, shiny variants and Pokémon costumes. The first of which appears to be for a ‘Holiday’. The sound files for all Gen 2 Pokemon are now in the game as well.
There’s also changes to the tracking feature, the capability of baby Pokemon (like Magby and Cleffa) to be your buddy. With genders and baby Pokémon now in the game – could we finally be getting breeding as well? We have Ditto!
There also seems to be new outfits and ways to customise your avatar coming to the game as well.
The masters at The Silph Road have a full ‘change log’ of what’s changed behind the scenes. How do these changes sound to you, can we freeze time until Monday? Let us know if you’re excited in the comments.
