Larger Wii U GamePad Battery, Wii Remote Charging Set coming to Australia
After our look at the larger Wii U GamePad Battery and Wii Remote Charging Set last month you’ve all be asking us when can I get my hands on these, without importing them. Well now we know.
Nintendo Australia will be available to order as parts from October 1st, that means there’s no retail packaging for the battery nor that nifty little screwdriver that the Japanese version came with. You’ll need a size 0 cross head screwdriver for that, any techies should have one laying around.
So what’s the cost? Well the Wii U GamePad Battery which boosts the battery life from a mere 3-5 hours to a much more acceptable 5 to 8 hours comes in at just $35.00 We’ve had the battery here for two months now and it’s been amazing, we recommend the upgrade. It’s super easy to install as well.
The Wii Remote Charging set will also be available from October 1st for $45.00. It comes with the base, new backplate which is the battery for the Wii Remote, a new Wii Remote silicon cover, wrist strap and of course a charger to power it all. If you have more than one Wii Remote and we think you might in 2013, then you can purchase additional Wii Remote Batteries for $30. The Wii Remote Charging Set will come with a box, but like the GamePad battery the Wii Remote batteries come as is.
All three items no shipping cost and as mentioned previously will be available to order from October 1st via Nintendo Australia’s Customer Service line. You can find their details here.

Would be nice if we could use those useless club nintendo points to buy it
This should be packaged as the standard battery for the Wii U.
Yes, this needs to happen! Both the Wii U battery and the Wiimote charger & battery.
And I just got a little more poor…
After getting a premium Wii U pack last week from Dick Smith’s sale, it was a little painful forking over almost the same amount for rechargeable battery packs.
Did you manage to get one? I rang up and they reckon they didn’t have any, both yesterday and today. Weird.
So these aren’t available yet?
