Finally someone pushes the 3DS hardware

Konami has shown off a new role-playing game for the 3DS, and it’s a looker.

Beyond the Labyrinth has been announced as a 3D dungeon RPG. The games story revolves around a girl who travels around ruins, and that’s about all we know about the story.

The game is being developed by Tri-Ace, who also made Valkyrie Profile, Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean. It looks like they know what they’re doing on the 3DS because the game’s art style and graphics look impressive.

The screenshots released so far are most likely bullshots that are running at a higher resolution than the 3DS can produce, but still, it seems like it’ll be a great looking game.

According to Famitsu the game is about 60 per cent complete so far and does not have a release date yet.
