Its been revealed that Kirbys Epic Yarn originally started off its life as a game with a brand new character. In a new Iwata Asks feature that has just been posted (and is still Japanese only), the director of Wario Land: The Shake Dimension came up with a design brief for the game and showed it to Nintendo. After toiling away on the game after three months, Nintendo then approached Good Feel to ask if they wanted to to turn it into a Kirby Game.

The game then went from Fluffs Yarn to become what we now know as Kirbys Epic Yarn. Producer on the game Etsunobu Ebisu said that while Fluff already looked like Kirby he thought the characters designers would be pleased to have their creation bumped for Kirby. When they saw Kirby in the game though it made sense.

Kirbys Epic Yarn is due out in America in 2010 but for Europe and Australia we will be waiting until next year.
