Kimishima hopes Nintendo Switch sales boost to 20m next financial year

And how they're gonna do it.

President of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima has been on somewhat of a media burst the last couple of days and has spoken to Kyoto Shimbun about how he expects the console to do next financial year.

Nintendo’s current financial year ends at the end of March and they expect 14 million will sell from launch until then. For the next financial year, Kimishima is bumping up their forecast to an even 20 million. How they’re going to do that we’ve yet to see, but one way Kimishima says is the acceleration of plans to have DLC for games which allow “purchased software to be played for a long time”.

We’ve seen Nintendo do this with games like ARMS and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but we’ve not seen a full blown GaaS (Games as a Service) title for the Switch. Could this be apart of their plans?

Let us know what you think in the comments.
