We covered the unofficial news not very long ago, but Nintendo of Japan have finally responded with a proper announcement for the DSi LL, which is coming there on November 21 for ¥20000.
The new model is a fair bit larger than the original DSi, with two 4.2in screens on top of a 161.0mm x 91.4mm x 21.2mm body, compared to the DSi’s 3.25in screens and 137.0mm x 74.9mm x 18.9mm dimensions. Its stylus is also 4 mm longer than the DSi’s equivalent.
It manages to achieve 1-3 hours of extra battery life (with a charge time of 3 hours—30 minutes longer than the DSi) even with the bigger screens, but being 50% heavier may help account for a bigger battery. It also includes three bundled apps; A Bit of Brain Training: Arts, A Bit of Brain Training: Science, and Kiyou Akira Rakuhiku Language Easier are shipped with every device.
Below you can see a picture comparing the DSi with the DSi LL, as well as pictures of the three colours announced (Wine Red, DarkBrown, and NaturalWhite).
